Tasting Notes
Appearance: Salmon/copper with some amber hints. Many fine steady bubbles.
Aroma/bouquet: Ginger, strawberry, brioche along with savory elements such as smoked turkey.
Palate: Silky texture and nice minerality. Complex with ripe strawberry, cranberry, almonds, light smoke. More savory flavors. Reminiscent of Thanksgiving dinner.
Additional comments: Powerful, complex. Just beginning to blossom. For peak enjoyment, give it a few more years in the bottle.
When to drink: Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rose' 2004 Champagne is ready to drink now, but will improve with age. Recommend 2016 - 2028.

Production

Veuve Clicquot uses the méthode champenoise for their champagne production. La Grande Dame Rose' 2004 is composed of 61% Pinot Noir and 39% Chardonnay from 100% grand crus. 15% red wine from Clos Colin in the Bouzy Grand Cru is added. Minimum aging on the lees is 6 years. Dosage ranges from 6 to 9 grams per liter.
