Tasting Notes
Appearance: Pale gold with fine bead and lively mousse.
Aroma/bouquet: Lemon, dried fruit, biscuits.
Palate: Dry, relatively high acidity but balanced with lemon, apple and discreet hints of ginger and toasty, nutty undertones. Generous texture and bubbles with a moderately long finish.
Additional comments: With late spring frosts and a late summer heat wave, 2003 was a difficult year in Champagne. Nevertheless this discreet champagne from Louis Roederer is structured and elegant. Louis Roederer was one of the few champagne houses to offer top quality in a very difficult year.

Louis Roederer Vintage 2003
Production

Louis Roederer uses the Méthode champenoise for their champagne production. The Vintage 2004 blend is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay (30% of the wine is matured in oak casks with weekly batonnage). No malolactic fermentation occurs.

Louis Roederer Vintage 2003 is matured for at least 4 years in the cellars before disgorgement. The dosagé of between 8 and 10 grams/liter is customized to complement each vintage. Vintage 2003 rests an additional 6 months after disgorgement.
