Tasting Notes
Appearance: Brilliant pale gold with extra fine bubbles.
Aroma/bouquet: Pear, apple, white peach, yeasty brioche with pure minerality and hints of apricot.
Palate: Dry, crisp with green apple, pear, layers of toasty bread and subtle hints of honeysuckle and apple blossom. Long nutty finish with a velvety mousse.
Additional comments: Well defined with wonderful structure, this wine is capable of long aging and patience will pay off dramatically in just a few years.
When to drink: This wonderful Louis Roederer Cristal 2004 Champagne needs patient aging to show its very best. Drink it from 2014 to 2028. Best: 2018-2024

Cristal 2004
Production
Louis Roederer uses the Méthode champenoise for their Cristal 2004 Champagne production. The Cristal 2004 blend is composed of 55% Pinot noir and 45% Chardonnay (20% of which is matured in oak casks with weekly batonnage). No malolactic fermentation occurs. Cristal is produced from grapes grown in Louis Roederer Grand Cru vineyards.
Cristal ages an average of 5 years in the cellars before disgorgement. The dosagé of between 8 and 10 grams/liter is customized to complement each vintage. Cristal rests an additional 8 months after disgorgement.
