Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2005
Production
Taittinger uses the méthode champenoise for their champagne production. The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2005 is composed of 100% Chardonnay grapes. The grapes for the 2005 Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Prestige Cuvee were sourced entirely from crus of the Cotes Des Blancs: Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant, Oger, Chouilly, Vertus, and Bergeres-les-Vertus. 5% of the blend has aged for up to 4 months in oak barrels with 1/3 of the barrels replaced yearly. Only first press juice is used in the production. Dosage was 9 grams/liter. Harvest began on September 12th.
