Tasting Notes
Appearance: Pale gold with fine long-lived bubbles.
Aroma/bouquet: White peach, orange peel, fresh baked pastries, minerality with floral notes.
Palate: Pear, almonds, apple tart. Some lemon and lemon peel on the finish. Refreshing minerality.
Additional comments: Well made, well balanced. Will get even better with age.

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut 2002
Production
Veuve Clicquot uses the méthode champenoise for their champagne production. The Brut 2002 is composed of 60% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Meunier from 100% Grand and Premier Crus. Only the best grapes from 17 to 21 villages are used. Primary fermentation of still wine is conducted in stainless steel tanks followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity. The champagne is aged on its lees for a minimum of 5 years. Dosage ranges from 6 to 9 grams per liter. 2002 was an exceptional year.
