Tasting Notes
Appearance: Salmon color with traces of copper. Lively fine tiny bubbles.
Aroma/bouquet: Pinot Noir really comes through. Wild strawberry, red currant, almonds, biscuits. Concentrated. Floral aspects.
Palate: Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Strawberry tart, ripe cherry, some citrus, minerality, toast.
Additional comments: A couple more years aging will bring out the very best elegance. Can't wait to try it again..
When to drink: Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé 2004 Champagne will drink best from 2015 to 2025.

Production

Bollinger uses the méthode champenoise for their champagne production. La Grande Année Rosé 2004 is composed of 68% Pinot Noir (of which 6% is still red wine) and 32% Chardonnay. Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé 2004 is 89% grand crus and 11% premier crus. Bollinger ages their vintage champagne 6 to 7 years on lees, twice the legal requirement for vintage champagne with disgorgement occurring in numbered lots. Dosage is from 8 to 9 grams/liter. Bollinger vinifies and ages their vintage cuvées in barrels.
