Krug and Key People

Pronunciation
kroog

Type of Producer
Krug owns only about 50 acres of vineyards, which supply about a third of their annual production needs. Other grapes are purchased from a few dozen loyal growers, some of which have been supplying the house since its beginning. The French regulations designate Krug as a Negociant Manipulant (a producer who buys grapes from growers).

Overall Producer Style
Krug is known for producing only prestige cuvee champagne. It is difficult to classify Krug with a typical style, but characteristically full bodied, very high quality, complex, dry and age worthy.

Annual Production
About 600,000 bottles are produced annually. Actual production numbers are proprietary.
