Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque 2002
Production
Perrier Jouet uses the méthode champenoise for their champagne production. The Belle Epoque 2002 is composed of approximately 50% Chardonnay, 46% Pinot Noir and 4% Pinot Meunier. The Chardonnay is from 100% grand cru vineyards. The dosage was approximately 9 grams/liter. Perrier Jouet ages the Belle Epoque a minimum of 8 years in the cellar.
As the Art Nouveau began in the early 1900s, Emile Galle designed the signature Japanese anemone. The first Belle Epoque vintage to incorporate the anemone on the bottle was 1964. The anemone remains an icon today as Perrier Jouet continues to honor Art Nouveau.
Belle Epoque was labeled Fleur de Champagne in the United States until 2011. 2002 was the last vintage to be labeled Fleur de Champagne. Perrier Jouet was acquired by Pernod Ricard in 2001.
