Sparkling Wine & Champagne

Champagne is a sparkling wine that comes only from the Champagne region of France. Sometimes people mistakenly call sparkling wine from places other than the Champagne region of France “Champagne”. According to French law and international agreements, sparkling wines made in places other than the Champagne region of France are not allowed to be called Champagne. Even sparkling wine made in other regions of France are not permitted to be called Champagne. They are called “Crémant”.
